Learn Why Polyurethane Is Replacing Mud Jacking Slurry

Polyurethane foam injection - Big Bear Concrete Leveling's new, alternative way to lift concrete slabs - offers a host of benefits when compared to traditional mud jacking.
  • It's eco-friendly.
  • Smaller port size.
  • It offers fast, same-day repairs.
  • You can use your concrete immediately after repair.
  • Long lasting repairs unlike mud which settles over time.
  • It will save you money, especially compared to concrete replacement!
Polyurethane vs Mudjacking

Avoid the Mess and Fuss of Old-School Mud Jacking

Mud jacking slurry comes with a mess of problems, including the messy and disruptive process itself. Simply put, mud is dirty and mud jacking is a dirty business.

In order to ensure the mud slurry flow is not restricted, the injection holes drilled in your existing concrete must be at least 2 inches in diameter, while polyurethane holes are no bigger than a dime.

Plus, the mud is heavy. Over time it will settle again and mud jacking will have to be reapplied. Polyurethane is light and doesn't weigh the soil down.

Heavy Slurries Can Lead to More Slab Settling

Many factors can lead to concrete slabs settling, including shifting soil beneath the slabs, the loss of water from the soil, and even burrowing animals.

One of the most common problems, however, is poorly compacted soil. Heavy mud jacking slurry can just lead concrete slabs to sink some more!
